The Howard Co. ARES - RACES operations manual is here. Revised July 2014

Thanks to John Fulton N9VOB, please print out a copy and place in the back of your ops manual. Also it would be a good idea to update the programming in your radio(s) to something very similar to this for ease of use if someone besides you has to use your radio.

Our Mission Statement:

A primary responsibility of the Amateur Radio Service, as established by Part 97 of the Federal Communications Commission’s regulations, is the performance of public service communications for the general public, particularly in times of emergency when normal communications are not available.  To that end, the Howard County Indiana ARES / RACES members, under the oversight of the American Radio Relay League and the Howard County EMA, will equip themselves and train to provide communications as a direct service to the general public through government and relief agencies of Howard County, the State of Indiana, and the federal government, when requested by those agencies.

In order to be prepared to provide quality communication for our served agencies either during a time of emergency or for a public service event training is essential.
